The present system of education is neglectful of these competencies resulting in

  • Lack of self motivation

  • Low creativity – resistance to change

  • Poor team spirit – lack of synergy

  • Poor interpersonal relationships

  • Low efficiency

  • Stress and related health problems

 

With the present system it is observed

  • Academic success is not a reliable indicator of success in working life.

  • Youth is unable to realize its full potential without basic competences which they pick up with no help from the system.

Employers have incorporated assessment of emotional competencies during recruitment, but the educational institutions are not preparing students in these aspects.

  • Getting to the root cause of emotions like anger, disappointment.

  • Nurturing self esteem and motivation.

The future of the Nation will be determined by the readiness of the Education Sector to accept and incorporate Emotional Intelligence training early and through all stages of life.
